You Should Have Excellent Craftsmanship Skills, A Good Eye For Detail, And The Strength To Work On Construction Sites To Be A Successful Stonemason. Before making the first cut, a skilled stonemason should be able to visualize the final stone structure and design the work accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Reading and Interpreting Blueprints.
• Choosing the materials and equipment required for the project.
• Grout and cement are being mixed.
• Stones are cut and shaped to the desired dimensions.
• Putting down stones in accordance with construction plans or project specifications.
• Moving stones with cranes, hoists, or heavy machinery.
• Using a Pick and Shovel to Dig Trenches.
• Stones and concrete are smoothed and polished.
• Replacement of faulty or missing stones on walls and structures.

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma.
• Attended An Accredited Trade School And Completed A Stonemason Apprenticeship.
• 3+ years of experience working as a stonemason in construction or architectural design.
• The ability to visualize and incorporate aesthetically pleasing patterns into a construction design.
• Reading and interpreting construction blueprints.
• Knowledge of stone cutting, shaping, and binding tools.
• Heavy machinery, cranes, and hoists require certification.
• Physically strong and capable of handling heavy objects.
• Ability to work for extended periods of time outside and in noisy environments.
