Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Five or more years of experience as a licensed industrial millwright, ideally in the printing, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing industries.
• Monitors and performs preventive maintenance to ensure cost-effective maintenance and adherence to the preventive maintenance schedule.
• Repair equipment, utilities, and systems as directed by the supervisor.
• Always follow all safety protocols and report any potential safety concerns to the site safety team and maintenance supervisor.
• Replace motors and starters.
• Reset overloaded circuits and replace blown fuses.
• Troubleshoot and repair cords, simple wiring, and other minor electrical faults.
• Repair of the machine structure
• Replace equipment as needed.
• When possible, rebuild pumps, motors, and other advanced equipment.
• Cutting and welding
• Routine machining
• Change of seal
• Bearing replacement
• Minor change
• Pump replacement
• Instrument calibrations
• Ability to properly troubleshoot electrical fundamentals and electrical control systems
• Create and execute fabrication tasks.
• Perform facility and maintenance tasks when required.
• Perform preventive maintenance and record results.
• Select and order repair parts.
• Understand internal utility systems (steam, compressed air, clean water, etc.)
• Assist production in case of any equipment issues.

Skills, knowledge/experience required to perform the job:

• mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and heating and ventilation systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to communicate confidently and competently with workers and external suppliers.
• Self-motivation. Ability to work alone with minimal guidance.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.

• computer literate. Competent with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and work hazards in Ontario.

The mental effort required to make a decision and the resulting benefits and/or potential consequences. When repairing machinery or equipment, it is important to maintain mental and visual focus for long periods.

Physical exertion to complete work

A lot of walking and standing is required. Requires moderate bending and lifting (ie up to 50 lbs). Ability to work in confined spaces and around operating machinery. When operating a forklift, scissor truck, or performing mechanical operations, finger/hand dexterity, and dexterity are essential, as is hand-eye contact.
